ABOUT US

Grey Fort Quilts has been in operation for over 30 years in St. Jacobs and was one of the original artisans in the Old Mill. We moved to the Mill Shed in 1985 and in September 1994 we moved to our present location on the main street. Our building was the town’s General Store and you can still see the original brick walls inside.

We take pride in our strong history of customer service. Along with the high quality of our home sewers, we strive to carry locally designed and Made In Canada products. Our store specializes in quilts. We carry a wide selection of hand stitched Mennonite and Amish quilts, as well as our own locally made quilts and the Brunelli collection. We have a large variety of gifts as well as Linens, Throws, Seat Cushions and Kitchen Accessories. We invite you to visit the store and let us assist you in the enhancement of your home décor. We are open year round for your convenience.

As the present owner of Grey Fort Quilts, I, Sandi Squires, became associated with the store, as a home sewer in 1995. This worked well for me as I was a stay at home mom raising two girls. As time went on and my girls grew older, I was available to join the staff. Working with the customers and meeting all sorts of people, I fell in love with Grey Fort Quilts. I was able to learn the store’s products, fabrics and also the procedures of custom orders. While working with the fabrics, I became passionate with quilting and now enjoy this as a personal hobby as well. When the former owners decided to retire Grey Fort Quilts, the opportunity arose for me to purchase the store. Believing the store was unique and loved by our many customers and staff, this needed to continue in the village of St. Jacobs.
